_________Intensity____Quality

Aroma_____ __________

A very smooth aroma, full of a soft sweetness, a little like honey and a tad like sweet grape candy, carrying behind it a bright crispness.

Acidity ____ __________

As described, dominantly malic in nature, this coffee has a very comfortable, soft acidity, a naturally intrinsic characteristic of the Laurina.

Sweetness __________

Intense sweetness of grape, giving way to a medium, but clean and cherry candy-like sweetness of pomegranate that picks back up again towards the finish.

Body _____ __________

A relatively smaller body that still holds the sweetness of the coffee together. I greatly enjoy the gentle intensity of the body that somehow seems to still be able to piece the intensity of this coffee's sweetness and finish in one smooth profile.

Finish_____ __________

The finish is lingering, with notes of both the body and of sweet cherries.

Notes

Being a big fan of Yasuo-san from Leaves Coffee Roasters, and hearing that this was being used by Akira Zushi-san of Koffee Mameya for his 2024 Japan Coffee in Good Spirits competition, I was very excited to be able to lay hands on this coffee.

And without doubt, this coffee is very true to the nature of both these individuals.

On the roasting and choice of coffee, this coffee is underlined by sweetness of pomegranate, cherries, and grapes. Intense in nature, yet insanely clean at the same time, at times it felt as thought i was drinking stevia!

At the same time, the smooth aroma, gentle acidity and evolving flavours make it very much so a classic Koffee Mameya choice. Masters at balancing delicate flavours, this coffee gives one much room to explore complementary pairings with its complexity, while also standing on its own in its right as a component of a coffee cocktail.

すばらしいだよ!
