_________Intensity____Quality

Aroma_____ __________

Heady and rich with aromas of lemon tea, condensed with a heavy depth of sweet lychees, it keeps its honeyed, aromatic notes for an extended duration after brewing.

Acidity ____ __________

A pleasant acidity of white flowers at the onset is followed with tart hints of lemon tea that come to fore towards the end of the profile.

Sweetness __________

There is a predominant rich tropical taste of lychees which is extremely syrupy and sweet,

which leads well into the body of the coffee, and flows down the throat exquisitely smoothly.

Body _____ __________

Wonderfully creamy body that belies the clean sweetness of the coffee. It is full and round, holding in place the juicy sweetness while bringing out fresh honeydew notes in the body.

Finish_____ __________

The drink cumulates in a pleasantly long lasting juicy-sweet finish, and when coupled with shades of tangy lemon sour, paints an accurate portrait of fresh lemon tea in the summer.

Notes

This coffee was placed #19 in Ethiopia's first ever Cup of Excellence (COE) competition, held in 2020 amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

I greatly enjoyed this coffee for its rich and creamy body, as well as lychee notes that come bursting with flavor. To a certain extent, it sometimes feels like even this rich and creamy body is insufficient to contain the juiciness of the lychee notes presented.

It is a remarkably smooth drink, whereby the entire taste profile becomes more like one full journey than it is a combination of disjointed parts. While not greatly modulating in flavor, it is an excellent cup of a coffee that is infallible across the board - definitely something I would be able to drink over and over again.
