Country: Guatemala

Region: Huehuetenago

Farm: Finca Cuevitas

Altitude: 1750 - 2100 masl

Varietal: San Ramon, Pacas

Process: Washed

Roaster: Weekenders Coffee

Tasting Notes: Bitter Chocolate, Caramel, Creamy, Hazelnut

_________Intensity____Quality

Aroma_____ __________

Well rounded roasted and chocolate notes, an assuming aroma of white florals forms on the nose as you take a first sip.

Acidity ____ __________

Pleasant hints of acidity, bearing resemblance to orange chocolates.

Sweetness __________

The acidity gives way to an intense sweetness of caramel and hazelnuts that is round and full in flavour, evolving simultaneously with the appearance of a hazelnut aroma.

Body _____ __________

Texture is rich and smooth, with a medium-to-heavy mouthfeel that sits weighty on the palate.

Finish_____ __________

A lingering afternote of hazelnut chocolate caps off the acidity and sweetness.

The finish is balanced with sweetness as much as it is dark and robust.

Notes

This coffee can simply be described as a dark roast done right, with a balance of sweetness, acidity, and body, while having kept to a longer extent of development. Capping off an amazing experience was an evolving aromatic journey, first appearing as white florals, and slowly transitioning into velvety smooth hazelnuts before finishing off with some deep ripe fruits.

I have always been a fan of Weekenders Coffee - of the vibes, the style and the purpose.

To this end, I was overjoyed to be able to enjoy some of their coffees, and this coffee did not disappoint one bit.
